The Cultural Association Floydseum, dedicated to enhancing the art and culture of the famous British band Pink Floyd, is pleased to announce its new exhibition, "The Night Of Wonders, Pink Floyd in Venice", to be held in Venice at the beautiful Serra dei Giardini, from 11 to 25 February 2017.

After creating the first and the only 3D virtual reality museum dedicated to Pink Floyd, the great exhibitions in Padua (2013), in Venice (2014) and in Portogruaro (2015), the Cultural Association Floydseum brings together in a virtual network some of the greatest collectors in the world of the rock band.

Thanks to Nonsoloverde, dating from the end of 1800 in the enchanting scenery of the Serra dei Giardini, located between the Biennale and the Arsenale, you will be able to relive the excitement of the July 15, 1989, the unforgettable Pink Floyd concert in Venice!

The exhibition, through photographic elements, videos and written, can set a time on music history and on the city of Venice. Do not miss the wonderful pictures photographed by Guido Harari, Andrea Pattaro, Marco Sabadin, Bob Hassall, Alcide Boaretto, the testimonies and rare memorabilia.

The exhibition will be open daily from Saturday, February 11 to Saturday, February 25, 2017, from 10 to 20, with free admission.

The Cultural Association Floydseum presents the first book "The Night of Wonders", lights, sounds, memories

 

The spectacular exhibition "The Night of Wonders" located in Venice from July to October 2014 in the charming former church of Santa Marta, currently in Portogruaro at the Foundation Collegio Marconi, and soon around Italy, it has become a book!

The project "The Night of Wonders", organized by the Cultural Association Floydseum, made ​​up by some of the greatest collectors of the band in the world, is now also a book. This is the result of a long and valuable work of search and selection of photos and written testimonies, collected in more than two years of research. The book is cleverly harmonized within a visual story and wrote that let you relive the excitement of that famous July 15, 1989, when over 300,000 people came to Venice to see and listen to Pink Floyd playing on a floating stage located in the basin of San Marco.

Fascinating glimpse of wonderful photos provided by some of the most famous photographers of the Italian Rock Music: Guido Harari, Andrea Pattaro, Marco Sabadin, Alcide Boaretto, Fran Tomasi and Bob Hassall.

The book also collects the written evidence of that incredible day in the memories of the band, the singers Durga and Lorely Mc Broom, the experts and the ordinary fans who have lived intensely that memorable day. A single document of the highest historical and cultural value that testifies to a page of the '900 that will remain in the history of music and entertainment, as well as in the ancient history of Venice. Floydseum invites you to watch "Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (director's cut)" at the former church of Santa Marta, place of The Night of Wonders exhibition. Pink Floyd at Pompeii is a documentary-concert film directed by Adrian Maben, released in version movie theaters in 1974 and focused on the music of the British rock band Pink Floyd. Floydseum invites you to watch "More" at the former church of Santa Marta, place of The Night of Wonders exhibition. The film goes back to 1969 and deals with an intense and troubled love story between two young people in Ibiza of that time. A fresco of a dreamy and dramatic journey with no rules in the world of drugs, with inevitable tragic outcome. The film is all accompanied by the soundtrack of Pink Floyd, which was commissioned by the director himself and published in the album Soundtrack from the Film More, present in the official discography of the band. It was presented in a special screening of the International Critics' Week at Cannes Film Festival 2002.

Floydseum invites all to watch "Crystal Voyager" at the former church of Santa Marta, place of The Night of Wonders exhibition. A color film of 1975, the first part is focused on the activities of three surfers (played by themselves) on the narrative voice of George Greenough. The second part of the film is based completely on the shooting of a camera mounted on a surfboard. The background music for this part is composed entirely of Echoes by Pink Floyd.
